Join a group of fellow enthusiasts on Saturday July 11, as the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College takes you on an educational adventure to explore wine and spirits.

Your senses will be tantalized and your knowledge of wine and spirits will be elevated to a new level. Our first stop will be at Southbrook Vineyards where you will gain an in-depth lesson on the process of cultivating organic and biodynamic grapes. The next stop on our wine and spirits adventure will be Vineland Estates Winery, where you will learn what it takes to produce premium grapes and have to the opportunity to indulge in a lavish lunch while enjoying a picturesque setting. Lastly we will switch gears and head to Dillon's Small Batch Distillers. This will be a unique opportunity to see firsthand how this innovative distillery produces spirits that you truly cannot find anywhere else.

Each visit will include tastings and the opportunity to purchase some of the wonderful products you’ve discovered. Sign up today and join us on an educational adventure to some of the most notable wine and spirit producers in Niagara.

Event Details:

  • 8:00 a.m. Arrive at the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (CHCA) at 300 Adelaide St. East and enjoy Starbucks coffee and breakfast snacks.
     
  • 8:30 a.m. Depart for Southbrook Vineyards.
     
  • 10:00 a.m. Learn about organic and biodynamic wines from Director of Winemaking and Viticulture Ann Sperling  of Southbrook, followed by a guided wine tasting.

  • 12:30 p.m. Travel to Vineland Estates Winery where Brian Schmidt, Vice President and Winemaker, will guide us though a tour and wine tasting, followed by a three-course lunch overlooking the stunning views.
     
  • 3:00 p.m. Arrive to Dillon's Small Batch Distillers where Geoff Dillon, Head Distiller, will help us discover the beauty of spirits made with 100% Ontario ingredients and then enjoy a tasting with light snack.
     
  • 5:00 p.m. Depart for the CHCA (approximate arrival time at 300 Adelaide Street East—7:00 p.m.)
