Uncork Ontario – Harvest in Prince Edward County, October 17 2015
Join us on Saturday October 17 for an extraordinary day, as we explore winemaking during the harvest season in Prince Edward County. Michael Fagan, former columnist at the LCBO’s Food & Drink Magazine will be your expert tour guide and you will get a behind the scenes look at some of the finest wine destinations the county has to offer.
At our first stop, the mother-daughter duo at the Grange of Prince Edward County Vineyards and Estate Winery will show us the ins and outs of wine production and we will have the rare opportunity to witness an artisanal winemaker in the middle of the harvest season. Our next stop at Norman Hardie Winery and Vineyard is all about cool climate wines. We will get to taste award-winning Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs served by one of Mr. Hardie’s trusted winemakers. We'll tour the grounds to gain an understanding of the differences between wines made with Niagara and County grapes. Lastly, at Rosehall Run we will hear from the passionate owner and Head Winemaker Dan Sullivan, on how they produce their state-of-the-art wines. We will taste their wines while dining on a light meal catered by Picnic PEC, and then we'll return to Toronto.
Every wine tells a story, so sign up today and see what story will unfold for you on our adventure to Prince Edward County!
