ABOUT ABOUT

"Corey Lee is one of the best chefs on earth" - Momofuku founder and chef David Chang.

Corey Lee is the chef and owner of 3-Michelin starred restaurant Benu, where he leads a team of professionals dedicated to providing their guests with the highest level of food and hospitality. His career has spanned nearly 20 years of working at some of the most acclaimed restaurants in the world, including a tenure as head chef at The French Laundry, and his unique cuisine has won a James Beard Award. In recognition of his work and influence, he was officially recognized as a goodwill ambassador for the city of Seoul, Korea—an honour given to leaders in various fields. Benu opened in August of 2010 and quickly became one of San Francisco's dining destinations.

Chef Corey Lee’s new cookbook Benu provides an illustrated presentation of one of Lee’s 33-course tasting menus, which seamlessly blends his South Korean heritage with his upbringing in the United States. From his book, Chef Lee will provide the students of the Centre of Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College with a list of techniques and ingredients to present a three-course dinner menu at The Chef's House. He will then spend the day guiding the CHCA students through the techniques and testing the recipes that will be presented. Chef Lee will attend the dinner and will be signing copies of Benu for guests.

Watch this video to hear Chef Corey Lee discuss his restaurant and his new cookbook, Benu.
