Uncork Ontario – Wine and Cheese Tour

Prince Edward County, July 9

On Saturday July 9, the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College will take you on an educational excursion to some of the finest wine and cheese destinations in Prince Edward County. Each tour stop on brings a unique experience — our culinary tours are like no other.

Our tour will begin at the renowned Norman Hardie Winery where Norman Hardie will lead a tour discussing the production of his premium wines. This will be a delicious lesson in the differences between wines made with Niagara and Prince Edward County grapes.

Our next stop will be Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Co. where owner Patricia Bertozzi-Secord will lead a discussion about their sustainable approach to crafting their artisnal cheeses, which have won several prestigious awards. We will of course taste their cheeses, made with only local, fresh sheep’s and goat’s milk.

Lastly, we will explore the vineyards at Closson Chase with winemaker Keith Tyers. This is a rare opportunity to explore a winery that spearheaded the birth of the Prince Edward County wine industry. We will discover their centuries-old European traditions & sustainable practices, and taste a variety of their premium wines.

Sign up today and see what story will unfold for you on our travels through Prince Edward County!
