ABOUT ABOUT

Uncork Ontario—Prince Edward County, June 13

On Saturday June 13 the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College will take you on an educational excursion to some of the finest wine destinations in Prince Edward County. An Uncork Ontario tour is a truly special opportunity for the Ontario wine lover—each stop on this tour is crafted to bring something unique to the day that you will not find anywhere else.

Surrounded by fellow wine enthusiasts, you will take an in-depth look at the art of winemaking from the winemakers themselves, learning about Ontario's finest wines while enjoying the picturesque settings of Prince Edward County. Our guests will be treated to a lavish lunch, several educational wine tastings, and a late afternoon meal. At each winery you will have the opportunity to purchase some of the wonderful wines you have tasted and discovered, some of which are available exclusively at the production winery. Every wine tells a story, so sign up today and see what story will unfold for you on our travels through Prince Edward County!

Our tour will begin at the family-owned and operated Grange of Prince Edward County Vineyards and Estate Winery, where we will see the ins and outs of wine production, and what biodiversity really means. At Hinterland Wine Company, the only winery in Ontario to produce only sparkling wines, you will learn about the three production methods of getting bubbles into the bottle. The final stop at Norman Hardie Winery and Vineyard is all about the classics. Tastings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir served by one of Mr. Hardie’s trusted winemakers will be an indulgent lesson in the differences between wines made with Niagara and Prince Edward County grapes.
